We are the third and fourth generations of the Michel family to operate this farm located in southwestern Montgomery County near Spring Creek. Carla’s grandparents, Elizabeth and Fritz Michel, purchased the farm in 1921 and together with their son, Maurice (Carla’s dad), grew and sold produce for the Houston produce market. In fact, Maurice was born and raised in the historic farmhouse which now houses the bakery and gift shop. Over the years, the farm has produced vegetables, watermelons, turkeys, and cattle. Today, we grow and harvest approximately 20 acres of Virginia Pine and Leyland Cypress trees for the Christmas season.

Growing Strong
Our full-time, year-round wholesale nursery operation was started in 2004 at the farm and soon we added a second greenhouse facility located near Waller, Texas. Seasonal perennial and annual color as well as poinsettias and specialty hanging baskets are produced and shipped across Texas.

Farm History
Bob and Carla are both graduates of Stephen F. Austin State University and have over 30 years of experience in the nursery industry. Their children, Lauren, Evan and Kristen are also actively involved with the business.
Our family is extremely pleased and honored to continue our 90 years of agricultural heritage! We are members of and Bob and Carla are both former presidents of the Texas Christmas Tree Growers Association, members of Go Texan, Grand Champion Christmas Tree of Texas for 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007 & 2008, supporters of Trees for Troops sponsored by the National Christmas Tree Association, and members of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association.
